Porta da Ravessa Vinhas Velhas Red Wine 2021
Deep in colour with red-fruit aromas layered with chocolate and tobacco; deep and concentrated on the palate, giving the wine complex layers and an exceptionally long finish. Made from old-vine field-blend grapes, fermented in stainless steel at 26°C, aged 12 months in French oak followed by at least 6 months of bottle ageing. 14.1% ABV, 5–6 years of ageing potential. This is the Porta da Ravessa old-vines reserve, drawn from a co-planted parcel of old vines. Its 2019 vintage won Gold (91 points) at the 2023 Sommeliers Choice Awards, with further Silver medals at the London Wine Competition and Sommeliers Choice Awards.
Food Pairing
Serve at 16–18°C. Pairs with grilled red meat, beef stew, aged cheese or a cigar — complex enough to reward slow sipping.
