Porta da Ravessa Special Edition Regional Alentejano Red Wine 2024

Bright ruby red, with an intense nose of fresh red fruit, vanilla and a touch of florals; silky on the palate with soft tannins and a lively, balanced finish. A blend of Syrah, Aragonez and Alicante Bouschet grown on predominantly granite soils with some clay-limestone and schist. Fermented in stainless steel at 24°C with 6–10 days of post-fermentation maceration, unoaked. 14% ABV, with 3–4 years of ageing potential. Porta da Ravessa takes its name from the landmark gate of the thousand-year-old castle at Redondo, Portugal, where the old "vara" and "covado" measuring marks can still be seen carved into the stone. Winner of Silver (88 points) at the 2024 Sommeliers Choice Awards, plus Silver and Bronze at the 2024/2025 London Wine Competition.
