Kweichow Moutai 50ml

Kweichow Moutai is China's most celebrated baijiu — honoured as the "national liquor" and the choice for state banquets and great occasions. It comes from the town of Maotai on the banks of the Chishui River in Zunyi, Guizhou — where a singular climate, water and microbial environment form the golden ground for the finest sauce-aroma (jiangxiang) baijiu. A daqu sauce-aroma baijiu, made from fine local red sorghum, wheat and Chishui River water through the intricate traditional method of "nine steamings, eight fermentations, seven extractions", then aged at least five years — with no aroma or flavouring added at any stage. At around 53% ABV, it is famed for a "pronounced sauce aroma, refined and delicate, a full body, a long aftertaste, and a fragrance that lingers in the empty glass". Best sipped slowly, neat and at room temperature from a small cup, to catch its every layer. Moutai carries great collector and gifting value too.
