Old Pulteney 12Years Single Malt Scotch

A clean, distinctly coastal nose: bright lemon and a mineral edge of seashell and chalk over a bourbon-cask core of vanilla cream, honey and caramel fudge, with elderflower, pineapple, Galia melon and green apple. The palate is creamy yet firm — vanilla and nougat sweetness met at once by a pronounced saltiness and chalky minerality, moving through lemon zest and grapefruit into a savoury mid-palate of dill and ginger, with a touch of cocoa. The finish is medium and drying, on black pepper, aniseed and oak tannin, with sea salt and Atlantic brine lingering last. Matured in air-dried ex-bourbon casks, bottled at 40%.
