Balblair 12year Highland Single Malt

Opens with apple, lemon and lime, followed by oatmeal and candied lemon peel, then fresh apricot, honey and sultanas. The palate is fruit-led — apple first — with vanilla sweetness set against darker liquorice root and dark chocolate, finishing on biscuit and cinnamon. Matured in ex-bourbon and double-fired American oak casks and bottled at a generous 46%, giving body without losing brightness. Balblair, at Edderton in the Highlands, was founded in 1790 and is the oldest working distillery in the Highlands.
