Louis Royer Cognac X.O

Louis Royer X.O Cognac, 40% ABV, from an older bottling. XO is a regulated grade: under current rules the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend must have aged at least ten years. The house was founded in 1853 by Louis Royer at Jarnac on the Charente; a beekeeper by trade, he took the bee as the house emblem — still the gold-and-blue mark today — for its diligence and craftsmanship. The flagship XO draws on Fine Champagne eaux-de-vie.
Food Pairing Neat or over ice; aromatics show best at room temperature. Pairs with dark chocolate, walnuts and cigars, or rich starters such as air-dried ham and foie gras. Especially good after dinner.
