Hakushu 12 Years

Hakushu is made at Suntory's forest distillery (founded 1973) in the foothills of the Southern Japanese Alps in Yamanashi — "the distillery in the forest". This 12-year-old single malt is crafted with soft mountain spring water, bottled at 43% — fresh and crystalline in style. Aromas of fresh grass, mint, green apple and pear, threaded with the gentlest peat smoke. Clean and precise on the palate, finishing with forest-like freshness. Where Yamazaki is rounded and rich, Hakushu is all green freshness — a character of its own. Sip neat to explore its layers, or lengthen with soda into the classic "forest highball" — exceptionally cooling. A fine choice for lovers of fresh styles and newcomers to Japanese malt.
