Penfolds Bin 128

This is Bin 128 from Penfolds (est. 1844), made from Shiraz grown solely in Coonawarra, South Australia, and aged in French oak — first vintage 1962. Coonawarra's famous Terra Rossa soils and cooler climate give it an elegance quite distinct from warm-region styles. Compared with Bin 28 it shows more pepper, spice and fine red fruit — blackberry, white pepper, spice and cedary oak, with fine tannins, appealing acidity and a balanced palate. An elegant Shiraz with real cellaring potential.
Food Pairing Serve at room temperature (around 16–18°C), best decanted. Pairs with grilled red meat, steak, herb-roasted lamb and roast poultry.
