Akkeshi Single Malt Keichitsu

Akkeshi Distillery is located in the town of Akkeshi in Hokkaidō, where the climate is close to that of Scotland's Islay. It distils on Forsyth copper pot stills, its malt is largely peated, and it matures in Hokkaido Mizunara, ex-bourbon, sherry and wine casks. The "24 Sekki" series is named for Japan's 24 solar terms, capturing the subtle turn of the seasons. "Keichitsu" (驚螫, "the waking of all things") is the 10th release in the 24 Sekki series, for early spring in March, made from Hokkaido barley and lightly peated.
