Bowmore 1972 45 Years 30th Anniversary 2018

Distilled in 1972 and released as a 30th-anniversary sherry-cask special, aged 45 years — an exceptionally rare, high-age Bowmore, its smoke softened and distant with age, with dense, deep dried-fruit and woody layers. Bowmore is Islay's oldest distillery, founded in 1779. Its No.1 Vaults maturation warehouse sits below sea level, right on the shore of Loch Indaal, where sea air seeps into the casks year-round — giving Bowmore a softer, rounder smoke than Islay's southern distilleries, with sea salt and honeyed sweetness.
