Château d'Aiguilhe 2018 AOC Côtes de Castillon Rouge

An expressive nose of ripe blackberry, cherry, toasted vanilla and delicate florals; rich and powerful on the palate, with tannins cushioned by dense black-plum fruit, firm structure, full body and good ageing potential. From the Côtes de Castillon appellation, a blend led by Merlot (around 80%) with Cabernet Franc (around 20%). The estate was acquired in 1998 by Stephan von Neipperg, known for low yields and a terroir-driven winemaking philosophy, and is regarded as one of the best-value estates on Bordeaux's right bank.
